Me: I’ve got a degree in Theatre Arts, emphasis design, direction and dramaturgy (look it up). I didn’t get the Master’s, as I was deported from England before I could complete the course (it’s a good enough story, and if you’re buying the drinks I’ll tell you all about it one of these days). I’ve worked in food retail and food retail management– largely natural and gourmet food outfits. I’ve worked as a caterer from part-time to full-time across the arc of the last twenty-five years. I farmed intensively for 1000 days, and launched the blog to record my growth and experiences as a diversity farmer.
I’m overly attached to my dogs. I’m constantly surprised by my attachments to cats. My favorite color is purple. My eyes are green. I still read more words on the printed page than on the screen. I’ve never had cable.

  1. I wish you the best of luck in your quest to be a part of the solution. And I salute you in having the courage to make the changes in your life. The world needs more people like you at the moment. And I wish you every success for the future. I kinda of stumble unto your blog.

  2. I can’t believe I have only just read this. If you mention candlesticks during the recount of your deportation – they owe me a drink too!

    • I never do mention the candlesticks. Not unless someone (ahem) brings them up!

  3. Carrie…you are often in my thoughts and always in my heart…so very sorry I never got up to Buckland Farm before you departed…guess I’ll just have to get my derierre out to Arkansas (?). Holy Moly! Arkansas? And I thought it was bizarre that you grew up in Columbia! hahaha! Miss you, dahling, gurrrl…much love from your favourite Virgo (ok, Leo/Virgo cusper) mwah, mwah, mwah!!!

    • Thanks Deja. It’s lovely to know you’re out there your own self, and loving the challenges life brings you.
